My approach
Integrative counselling
My role is to create the right conditions for healing, growth and self-discovery by introducing ways of exploring, understanding, and processing for balanced mental health and wellbeing.

Unconditional Positive Regard
I accept you as you are, without judgment or conditions. This space is yours to be completely authentic.
Counselling is the place where you may discuss the parts of your life, feelings, beliefs or taboo matters that may not be ordinarily discussed.
Empathetic Understanding
I strive to understand your world from your perspective, creating a sense of being truly heard and valued.
I’m trained to listen at a deeper level, and to respond in a way that encourages you to process, develop self-awareness and insight, which should enable you to gain clarity in your chosen path.
Genuineness
I bring my authentic self to our sessions, creating a real, honest therapeutic relationship.
As a therapist, I am highly engaged and play an active role in sessions.
Integrative Process
You set the pace and direction. I trust your innate capacity for growth and self-understanding.
Clients enter counselling for change, safety, to reconnect or find their ‘true self ‘; therefore, it should feel supportive and gentle yet involve approaches for adaptation, connection and renewal.
What to Expect in Our Sessions
Our sessions are a collaborative journey. There’s no agenda other than what matters to you. You might come with specific issues to work through, or you might simply need space to talk and be heard.
The first session is about getting to know each other and getting a sense of what you would like to change and how you would like to feel. It’s very typical for people to come in overwhelmed and struggle to articulate what they need initially and that’s ok. I find after a couple of sessions clients start to construct and make sense of a general direction, this in itself can often reduce anxiety.
In session, I’ll listen deeply, I am trained to step into your experience and understand from your perspective. I will also be curious about tension, sensation and felt sense in the body as this is where emotions are experienced and held. I believe in working with the ‘whole person’. Counselling is also a place to slow down, I often find clients comment that they leave in a lot calmer place than they arrive.
Many clients find that this process of being truly heard and accepted helps them gain clarity, build self-confidence, and make positive changes in their lives.
